Delores “Dee” Keeton, age 90, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL. Dee was born on August 21, 1934, in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Lillian Violet Stewart, William Jacob Mercer and stepfather Merle Stewart.
On April 12, 1958, Dee Mercer married Victor “Bob” Keeton, the love of her life in Granite City, IL, and Bob passed away on February 14, 2014, after 62 years of marriage. Dee was a proud homemaker who loved caring for her grandchildren and helping others. She also enjoyed selling Avon, having yard sales, feeding the birds and working jigsaw puzzles. Dee loved life, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and dear husband, Dee was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Mercer, and by a son-in-law, John Osseck.
She is survived by her loving children, Ron (Robin) Keeton of Glen Carbon, IL, Tammy Osseck of St. Charles, MO, Randy (Ginger) Keeton of Waynesville, MO and Richard Keeton of Granite City, IL; dear sister, Barbara Travis; proud grandmother to Laura Keeton, Ryan Keeton, Tara (Ryan) Sims, Dr. Jenna (Dr. Steve Branstetter) Osseck, Adam Keeton and Aaron Keeton; proud great-grandmother, Sophia Sims, Bennett Sims, Olivia Branstetter and Tessa Branstetter; extended family and many dear friends.
In celebration of her life, a private family service will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates Mausoleum, Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, as she had a soft spot for all children.
