Emma Marie Wallace, 82, of Solstice Senior Living in Fenton, Missouri and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:42 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri.
She was born April 9, 1942, in Walnut, Illinois, a daughter of the late John “Jack” and Loretta Mae (Leach) Dawson.
She married Bobbye G. Wallace on September 21, 1981, in Edwardsville and he passed away on July 9, 2009.
Emma had worked many years as an attendant at several laundromats in the area. She cherished her dogs, loved watching birds and enjoyed collecting. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Marie and David Cook of Bunker, Missouri and Rebecca Renee and Ardell Silvia of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Ashley and Joshua Latchford and Brendan Dodd; two great grandchildren, Gage Latchford and Makayla Latchford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Eugene and Darlene Dawson of Granite Falls, North Carolina and John “Jack” and Kathleen Dawson of Glen Carbon; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Lee Dawson.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 4 until 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024. Pastor Jack Dawson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Glen Carbon City Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
