Raymond Deleveski

Raymond J. Deleveski, 90, of Glen Carbon and formerly of Maryville, Illinois passed away at 1:02 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2024, at Meridian Village where he enjoyed six wonderful years.

He was born November 16, 1934, in Claryville, Missouri, a son of the late Frank and Sophia (Szydlowski) Deleveski.

He married Martha J. (Johnson) Deleveski on August 8, 1959, in Chester, Illinois, and she survives.

He retired from Ameren after many years of dedicated service with the company and also with Illinois Power. He had attended Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and attended services at Meridian Village through the years. He had also been a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed watching all sports and enjoyed his days of hunting, fishing, bowling and playing golf. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family, friends and Meridian Village adopted family.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Tim Hott of Woodstock, Georgia and Lisa and Todd Harman of St. Jacob, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jessica Harman, Jacob Harman, Ryan Harman, Arista Hott, Arlyn and Seth Shirley and Annika Hott; three great grandchildren, C.J., Emma and Alek; sister-in-law, Delores Deleveski of Waterloo; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, John Deleveski and Frank and Wilma Deleveski and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Anna Benn, Frances and Red Barnes and Rosaline Deleveski.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be in the chapel at Meridian Village, 27 Auerbach Place in Glen Carbon on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. with Father Patrick Gibbons as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to the Activities Department at Meridian Village.
