Joan Carroll Mase, 90, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 7:13 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.
She was born June 12, 1934, in Granite City, Illinois, a daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Vickers) Cann. She married Charles L. Mase on May 6, 1958, in Belleville, Illinois, and he passed away on January 3, 2016.
Joan attended a school for the blind in Alton and loved attending Word of Life Tabernace in Granite City. She had a love for flowers and enjoyed tending to her yard. She was always taking care of others and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Curt Mase, Jeff Mase and Rodney and Michelle Mase; seven grandchildren; multiple great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Marie Cann and Dale and Pat Cann; a sister, Irene Stinchfield; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Mase; a daughter-in-law, Mary Mase; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and June Cann, Robert and Mary Cann and Jerry and Ruth Cann; a sister, Mary Ann Symons and a brother-in-law, Bob Stinchfield.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 5 until 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, with Reverend Cathy Crippen officiating.
Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
