Lanette D. Haddix, 73, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:41 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2025, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born January 25, 1952, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Deloris (Cottrell) Draper and the late William Squires.
Lanette had cared for many people throughout her 38 year career in nursing. She retired in 2018 as a Registered Nurse, First Surgical Assistant, working with Anderson Hospital, Christian Northeast Hospital and Gateway Regional Medical Center over the years.
She enjoyed her days of trivia, playing dominoes and attending sporting events of her family. She cherished her special group of friends and enjoyed gatherings of her Granite City High School Class of 1970. She loved her children and grandchildren and will be remembered for the special times shared with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sweetheart and best friend, Donald R. Haddix who passed away on March 5, 2015, and her stepfather, Norman Draper.
She is survived by three children and spouses, Donnie and Mary Haddix of Granite City, Jill Relleke of Granite City and Ryan and April Haddix of Granite City; seven grandchildren, Emily Haddix, Abbey Haddix, Lucas Haddix, Tyler Theis, Hadley Rellek, Mila Haddix and Ellaina Haddix; one great grandson, Logan Bloomquist; two brothers and spouses, Scott and Shereth Squires of Troy, Illinois and Mark and Kim Draper of St. Peters, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 3 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 5 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
