Joyce Marie Ross, nee Etling, 83, of Freeburg, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2025, at home. Mrs. Ross was born on February 20, 1942, in Belleville, IL.
Mrs. Ross was employed as a custodian with Freeburg Grade School from 2004 to 2019. Joyce was also a beautician for many years, employed at Norma’s Beauty Shop in Belleville. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Freeburg. Joyce and her family were known for raising white asparagus for over 70 years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandkids and riding her four-wheeler around the family farm.
Surviving are loving husband of 62 years, Donald E. Ross; two sons, Ronald Ross and Kevin (Jodie) Ross; two grandchildren, Hunter (Bryce Fischer) Ross and Jonas Ross; her sister, Phyllis (Harold) Amann; and several nieces and nephews.
