Gloria Mae Hunter, nee Tucker, age 81, of Caseyville, IL, born on November 29, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, died on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Gloria loved Facebooking. She also enjoyed playing pool, bingo, the lottery, and many types of gambling. Gloria was a loving mama, grandma, and great grandma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Hunter; her son, Daniel Hunter; her son-in-law, Robert Brueggeman; her grandchildren, Alyssa Hunter and Cristy (Justin) Campbell; her parents, Irving and Lura, nee Jarrett Tucker; her brother, Ronald Tucker; her sister-in-law, Flossie Tucker; and her longtime companion, Larry Wakefield.
Gloria is survived by her children, Lenora Brueggemann of Caseyville, IL, Charles Hunter of Maryville, IL, and Thomas (Brenda) Hunter of Fairview Heights, IL; 5 stepchildren, Eric, Jason, Brent, Courtney and Becky; her daughter-in-law, Kim Hunter of Clinton, IL; her grandchildren, Valerie, Charlie, Nicole, Robert, Jessica, Larry (Deja), Thomas (Tara), Katey (Adrian), Charles (Bailey), and Abbey; 20 great grandchildren, Justin, Robert, Madelynn, Cristian, Mya-Lynn, Jeremiah, Julian, Jaxson, Jordan, Lillie, Braelynn, Isaiah, Neveah, Nyliah, Joshua, Thomas, Emmett, Rilah, Ivy and Saylor; and her siblings, Irving Tucker, Jr., of Chester, IL and Shirley Wilson (Brian Savant) of Hollywood Heights, IL.
Gloria is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
