Bernadine “Bernie” Dorothy Liske, 86, of Freeburg, IL, born October 21, 1938, in Covington, IL, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.
Bernie started her career with a drafting supply company Keuffel-Esser. She later held positions with the Internal Revenue Service, the Pentagon, and the Secret Service in St. Louis, MO. While working for the Secret Service, she enjoyed traveling and serving in many different campaigns, and made many lifelong friends along the way.
Bernie was an active member at St. Henry Catholic Church. She was involved in the Ladies Club and enjoyed helping with the Fish Fry at church. Bernie was also a member of the Herbalist Club for St. Clair County. Her favorite pastime was traveling and tending to her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen, nee Malick, Liske; her brother, Eugene Liske; and her brother-in-law, David Hardin.
Surviving are her siblings, Alvin (Jean) Liske, Charlotte (Larry) Wimpe, Leroy (Luella) Liske, and Diane Hardin; many dear nieces and nephews, David (Barb) Liske, Gary (Laura) Liske, Kathy (Roger) Berg, Jennifer (Michael) Arndorfer, Michael (Jessica) Liske, Andy Liske, Mary Klassing (Diana), Danny (Michelle), Jim (Samantha) Wimpe, Kurt Wimpe, Sarah Hardin (Ryan Henke), and David (Elaine) Hardin, Jr.; and many dear great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit the family from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Kenneth York officiating.
Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Radom, IL, at a later date.
