Joyce Jack

Joyce H. Jack, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her home in Belleville, Illinois.

She was born on April 19, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa to Albert and Charlotte Dale (Averill) Meadows and was the fifth of eight children. She grew up in Des Moines but after marrying Dwight W. Jack in 1953 lived in Omaha, Nebraska, Ballwin, Missouri, Pleasanton, California and Highlands Ranch, Colorado before moving to Belleville in May 2020 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Joni Jack and Charlie Fike.

Joyce is preceded in death by her:

  • Husband of 62 years: Dwight
  • Sisters:
    • Norma
    • Sally
  • Brothers:
    • Jack
    • Al
    • Dick

She is survived by her:

Joyce was a very loving wife and mother, and her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She was a warm and caring person who made deep, lifelong friendships everywhere she lived. As a guest in her home, you were greeted and then promptly asked if you were hungry. Any answer, yes or no, was followed up by her preparing snacks or a full meal. She was a good cook but her claim to fame was peanut brittle, peanut butter penuche, and snickerdoodles.

She was a very devout believer in Jesus Christ and a regular attendee and bible study student at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch. She also enjoyed painting and, in her day, was a good golfer to the dismay of her husband. She enjoyed sharing margaritas with family and friends and became quite animated after her first sip.

The family would like to say a special “thank you” to the women who watched over and cared for Joyce for the last four years of her life including Becky, Jai, Dani, Shannon and Joyce and her amazing Doctor, Frederick Balch.

A private family service will be held to celebrate Joyce’s life.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Joyce Jack.
