Robert Morrison

Robert Bruce Morrison “Vinny,” 74, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loved ones on March 16, 2025. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Vinny was a retired firefighter with the Belleville Fire Department serving as the department’s first Battalion Chief after 35 years. Being a firefighter was important to him, and he served his department with pride and dedication. He was also a United States Army Reserves veteran.

Bob loved adventure and traveling. As soon as spring hit you could find him riding his Harley, getting some “wind therapy.” Bob enjoyed meeting his friends for breakfast and lunch a few times a week even when it became difficult. He loved going to car shows and watching NASCAR, but what he is best known for is the friendships he created along the way. His bright smile and kind eyes made him easy to love and hard to forget.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel C. Sr. and Nola G., nee Tolliver, Morrison; his four sisters, Juanita Grimmer, Gerry Phillips, Rosemary Bosick, and Betty Voss; and two brothers, Sam Morrison, Jr. and Albert “Buddy” Morrison.

He is survived by his two daughters, Nicole (Bradley) Wilson of Millstadt, IL, and Jacqueline (Patrick) Lillis of Loveland, CO; his former wife, Donna Morrison; four grandchildren, Nadaley Wilson, Alivia Wilson, Paxton Lillis, and Penelope Lillis; a great-grandchild, Barrett Missey; a sister, Patty (Ed) Kraft; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Backstoppers. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
