Wilda Jean Tedford, 81, of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully at 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
She was born June 1, 1943 in Granite City, IL to the late Sally Ann (Gaffort) and Trenton Nelson.
“Jeannie” loved to garden, sew, embroider, quilt, and used her artistic ability to create beautiful floral arrangements.
She is survived by her four children: David (Michelle) Tedford of Beaufort, SC; Debra (Lamont) Wilson of Wood River, IL; Gina Fedorchak of Rogers, AR; and Paul Tedford of Glen Carbon, IL. Grandchildren: Shannon (Tedford) Mock, Joseph Tedford, Alexandria (Fedorchak) Jackson, Chelsie (Wilson) Shriver, Joshua Fedorchak, Emily Tedford, and Zachary Wilson. Great-grandchildren: Breanna Mock, Yasmine Mock, Rocco Jackson, Lilian Shriver, and Maxine Jackson. A brother: Eddie Brunnell Ray; and sister, Claudell Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Arnold Tedford, brothers: Trenton Robert Nelson and Carlton Leroy Nelson; and sisters: Lucille Ray, Bonnie Lou Nelson, Betty Jo Ray and Frances Nelson.
A private burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Bethalto, IL.
