Giselle Dogan Joins SIUE Women’s Basketball

EDWARDSVILLE – SIUE women’s basketball Head Coach Samantha Quigley Smith continues to add to her roster for the 2026-27 season, announcing the addition of transfer Giselle Dogan (Everett, Washington).

Dogan is a 5-foot, 7-inch guard who comes to SIUE after playing two seasons at Division II Jessup University in Rocklin, California.

“We are so excited to add Giselle to our guard play,” Smith said. “Her shiftiness and versatility scoring wise will bring a new dynamic to our team! She’s also a hard-nosed competitor who wants to win.”

Dogan appeared in 37 games making nine starts in two seasons. She averaged 9.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. She also averaged 2.3 assists per game last year as a sophomore.

In two seasons she was a 37 percent three-point shooter and a 78 percent free throw shooter.

The Cougars won 16 games in 2025-26 and advanced to the second round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.

Dogan is the second offseason transfer to join the Cougars, joining She joins Pryelle Kesse-Beda announced earlier this month. She is the sixth overall addition announced by Smith. In November, the Cougars announced four early signees: Brooke Blakenship (Festus, Missouri), Jayla McClinton (Raytown, Missouri), Alex Nicastro (St. Charles, Missouri) and Taylor Trame (Avistion, Illinois) who all were announced in November.
