Mark Fenton

Mark D. Fenton, 65, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.  He was born September 12, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late William and Billy Joyce (Hayman) Fenton. 

He retired from the Teamsters Local #600 after many years of dedicated service with Chrysler.  The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.  He was a member of the Ramdales Athletic Club and had a special love of fishing.  He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.  He loved animals and cherished his dogs, Willie and Lucy.

He is survived by his wife, Judith (Glass) Fenton, whom he married January 22, 2005 in St. Louis; daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Brian Paschall of St. Peters, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Todd and Michelle Fenton of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; stepson and daughter-in-law, Chris and Susan Glass of Granite City; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Cameron, Mallory, Meredith, MacKenzie, Colen and Kaitlyn; a sister, Joanne Trent of Wentzville, Missouri; a niece; two nephews; other extended family and many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Estelle Fenton; his first wife, Colleen (Mattison) Fenton; two infant grandsons, Mark and Trevor and a brother-in-law, Joseph Trent. 

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 with Reverend Clint Wisdom officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with military honors.
