Timothy James Johnson, 62, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:33 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020 at his home.
He was born October 19, 1957 in Granite City, a son of Mable (Dodd) Johnson of Fairview Heights and the late Nathan Johnson. He married Mary (DeGonia) Johnson on June 18, 1976 in East St. Louis and she survives.
He worked at Kraft Heinz with six years of dedicated service as a machine operator. He was a member of the Granite City Eagles Aerie #1126. Tim enjoyed his days of playing golf, fishing, cooking and was the master of barbeque. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife and mother, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Amy Johnson of Belleville and Robert and Jamie Johnson of Granite City; five grandsons, Evan, Jordan, Logan, Tegan and Landen Johnson; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Nathan and Carol Johnson of Granite City, Donald and Ina Johnson of Granite City, Herb and Margie Johnson of Hartford, Johnny and Mary Johnson of Branson, Missouri and Jeff and Becky Johnson of St. Louis; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Connie and James Embrey of Granite City, Brenda Gail Smith of Granite City and Yvonda Issak of Fairview Heights; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Mark Maynard officiating.
