Johnson Advances While Forest, Rayl, And Boyd Heads Home

CHAMPAIGN – Granite City’s Dylan Boyd and Brenden Rayl and Alton’s DeOntae Forest came up short in the first round of the wrestlebacks and are heading home.

Boyd lost to Joe McDermott by pinfall at the 4:00 minute mark in the first round of the wreslebacks. Last night he lost to Pierre Baldwin by pinfall at 4:39 in the prelims.

For Rayl, he lost in the prelims by a 58-second pinfall by Evan Gosz and then in the first round of the wreslebacks Anothy Lopez by a 13 to mid-decision.

Alton’s Forest lost to Tyler Guerra by 12-1 mid-decision then dropped a close 8-6 decision to Maddox Khalimsky.

Edwardsville’s Jorden Johnson stayed alive and advanced with a 7-4 decision over Moses Quintana. Johnson led the whole match. Johnson will now face Collin Carrigan in the quarterfinal wrestleback match.
