Edwardsville Girls Basketball Team Loses To Tough Okawville Team Saturday

EDWARDSVILLE – The Edwardsville girls basketball team loses to a very good Oakawville team 40 to 26 in the first game of the Scott Credit Union Hoopfest.

In the first quarter, Okawville jumped out to a 14 to 2 lead. Okawville pushed the lead to 23 to 8 going into the locker room. In the third quarter, Okawville extended the lead to 36 to 17. But in the final quarter, Edwardsville wouldn’t stop and outscored Okawville 8 to 4.

Edwardsville was led by Ellie Neath with 11 points and Kaitlyn Morningstar with 6. Okawville was led by game MVP Alayna Kraus with 20 points and Megan Rennegarbe with 7 points.
