Edwardsville Responds To Structure Fire Monday Night

EDWARDSVILLE – Edwardsville Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of North MainStreet around 8:30 p.m. Monday night. The 911 call stated that black smoke was coming up the stairs from the basement.

According to scanner traffic when firefighters arrived on scene, they had a working fire. Edwardsville Fire Department requested a Box-Alarm which brought Glen Carbon and Wood River Fire Department to the scene. Collinsville Fire Department covered the City of Edwardsville during the fire.

Edwardsville Police Department closed North Main Street while firefighters worked on the scene.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly. No injuries were reported, and it is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
