SOUTH ROXANA – A Tuesday night fire destroyed a detached garage in South Roxana.
At just after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday firefighters responded to a fire in the 100 block of Rose Ave. in South Roana. The garage was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters requested Ameren to the scene because live powerlines were on the ground. South Roxana requested help from Roxana, Hartford, and Wood River Fire Departments.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly but the garage was a total loss. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
