Alyssa Marquis Signs Letter Of Intent To Dance At Quincy University

GODFREY – Alyssa Marquis, a senior at Alton High School, signed her letter of intent today to continue her academic and dance career at Quincy University. 

Marquis started her dance career at three years old and either did dance or cheered throughout her childhood. She danced at the Alton Academy of Dance throughout her dance career. 

In the 2021-2022 competition season, Marquis had an outstanding year. She received 13-time 1st place regional champion, Hollywood Stars Scholarship, New York City All-Star Scholarship, Heart and Soul Judges Choice, Overall High Point National Champion for Solo, and 2nd place at Nationals for Solo.  

While she is attending Quincy University she will double major in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology.  

When asked why she chose Quincy University as the college she said “On top of the breathtaking campus and cordial professors, the dance team made me feel at home and part of their family” 

Alyssa’s little sister Everly who is 7 years old is following in her big sister’s footsteps. Everly has won a National Championship the last two years. 

Marquis didn’t dance with Alton High School because she was training 5 days a week and traveling for competitions with Alton Academy of Dance and couldn’t do both.

Marquis is the daughter of Drew and Mandy Marquis. 

Alton Academy of Dance has been open since 2015 and is located at 5725 Godfrey Rd.  Godfrey, IL    618-973-6812      Offering classes for age 2 and up in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Acro, Conditioning and Stretching, Hip Hop, and Competitive Dance.
