David Alexander Miller, 69, of Granite City, IL passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL due to complications from heart & kidney failure.
David was born to the late Eleanor (Goode) Miller Stafford on October 8, 1954 in New York and was raised by his maternal grandparents in Halstead, KS. He earned a M.S. Psychology & Ed.S. Counseling & recently retired from the MO Dept of Health after a 30+ year career as a Mental Health Counselor. David was a proud Licensed Amateur Ham Radio Operator, an avid Telsa fan, enjoyed Renaissance Fairs, Comic Cons and loved to travel. He lived for coffee & all things technology or cosmos related.
David is survived by sisters: Rebecca Stafford and Laura Miller of Los Angeles, CA; Kathleen Watkins of New York; a brother: Aram Stafford of Los Angeles, CA; a brother-in-law: Robert Stoppkotte; and sister-in-laws: Sandra E. Stoppkotte and Lorrie E. Stoppkotte of Granite City, IL.
Besides his parents, grandparents, and sister: Melora Stafford Holley, David is preceded in death by his fiancé, the love of his life for the last 45+ years, Janet Lee Stoppkotte.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite local pet charity.
