Barbara Ann “Barb” Borage, 66, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 4:41 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her home. She was born January 15, 1958, in Madison, Illinois, a daughter of the late Michael and Winifred (Edrington) Sasyk. She married David A. Borage on March 26, 1994, at their home in Granite City and he survives. Barb retired as a records clerk from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department after 37 years of dedicated service.
She enjoyed her days of fishing, cherished her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jamie Caple of Granite City; her stepson, David P. Borage of Granite City; five grandchildren, Mackenzie Caple, Devin Doty, Paige Allison, Lexi Allison and Jesalin Caple; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ramon and Maryann Borage of Affton, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Caple; a brother, Terry Sasyk and a sister, Karen Davis. In celebration of her life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
