Sloan threatened to kill Tomlinson’s daughter Courtney, who he lived with on Wood Thrush. He ordered her to bind herself with zip-ties on her wrists and then he covered her with gasoline and held a knife to her throat saying he was going to kill her according to court documents.

Courtney managed to free herself and went to a neighbor’s home for help and that’s when Sloan went inside Tomlinson’s house which is just a few houses down poured gasoline and lit the fire which caused a large fire. Multiple fire departments were called to the area to help extinguish the flames.

Tomlinson was found deceased in the kitchen area.

Sloan was rescued from the fire and taken into custody after receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
