Betty Jean Riechman, nee Weber, 93, of Smithton, IL, born April 7, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, died Monday, August 12, 2024, at her residence.
Mrs. Riechman owned Jean’s Uniforms in Belleville, IL, for many years. Betty, along with her husband Lester, was a beer distributor for Pabst Blue Ribbon. They also owned Riechman Dry Goods and Mascoutah Dry Goods. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Smithton, IL.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 54 years, Lester F. Richman, Sr. whom she married on January 14, 1952, and who died on January 6, 2006; and her parents, Lester and Evelyn, nee Nachtweih, Weber.
Surviving are her son, Lester “J.R.” (Earlene) Riechman of Red Bud, IL; two grandchildren, Breanne (Ryan) Muench and Clint (Jennifer) Riechman; four great-grandchildren, Tori and Evan Muench and Alexis and Amelia Riechman; and two nieces, Carol Kolar and Jeanne Hamann.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. John United Church of Christ, Smithton, IL, with the Rev. Brian Damrow officiating.
Burial of cremated remains will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
