Frank Booker

Frank Booker, 91, of Belleville, IL, born April 26, 1933, in St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully Friday, August 23, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO, surrounded by his family.

He served his country in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. Graduating 2nd out of 498 recruits. His dedication and love of Belleville was evident in his service to the community. When he purchased Panorama Lanes, he became a member of the Optimist, raising money as an ambassador for the city. He was also a member of S.A.V.E. In 1985, he became a member of St. Clair County Sheriff’s Merit Commission, serving 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Mary, nee Grigg, Booker; a sister, Ann Rosemann; and a brother, Jim Booker.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Martha, nee Hoffmann, Booker; a daughter, Michelle (David) Booker a son, Michael (Jamey) Booker; six grandchildren, Ashley, Patrick, Hayley, Ethan, Carley, and Grant; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Theadore (Teddy) a sister, Mary Buchta; and his nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Gateway Chapter St. Louis, MO. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
