Dominick M. Roberts, 36, of Belleville, was charged on Dec. 18, 2025, with aggravated unlawful possession of weapons, a Class 4 felony.

Roberts is accused of knowingly carrying a black SCCY 9mm semi-automatic handgun in his vehicle on Nov. 25, 2025. Charging documents state the weapon was uncased, loaded, and immediately accessible at the time of the offense, when Roberts also had not been issued a currently valid Concealed Carry License.

The Granite City Police Department presented the case against Roberts, who was granted pretrial release from custody.

Jacorey J. Thompson, 22, of Columbia, Mo., was charged in an unrelated case from Dec. 22, 2025, with one count each of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer and aggravated unlawful possession of weapons, both Class 4 felonies.

Thompson allegedly knowingly carried a Taurus G3C handgun on his person, which was uncased, loaded, and immediately accessible on Oct. 24, 2025; he had also reportedly not been issued a valid Concealed Carry License at the time of the offense.

On the same day, Thompson reportedly knowingly failed to obey and attempted to elude a police officer who had given him a visual or audible signal to stop the vehicle he was driving, with the vehicle exceeding 21 miles per hour over the area’s legal speed limit during his attempted flight from the officer.

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny Thompson’s pretrial release from custody, which states he fled from a traffic stop and accelerated to 90 mph in a 35 mph zone.

“He passed another vehicle, nearly causing an accident. Defendant then drove over railroad tracks, going airborne and losing control of the vehicle, crashing into an occupied residence,” the petition states. “Officers arrested defendant and located a firearm on his person, also observing signs of intoxication.”

Thompson’s case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and he was ordered remanded to jail for his initial court appearance.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
