PEORIA, Ill. — Top runners from Madison County teamed up July 24, 2026, at Detweiller at Dark to represent the county as “The 618 Squad,” bringing together competitors and friends from Collinsville, Highland and Troy on the state running course.
The team placed seventh out of 46 teams in the High School Boys division race at Detweiller at Dark in Peoria.
The runners, who compete against each other during their regular cross-country and track seasons, came together as friends and collaborators to help each other improve, strengthen their schools and represent Madison County.
The team consisted of Caleb Knobloch of Highland, Caden Meier of Triad, Daniel Gutierrez-Trejo of Collinsville, Chase Cummins of Collinsville, Liam Priest of Highland and Joshua Knobloch of Highland.
