COLLINSVILLE – A local man charged with bringing several grams of meth from St. Louis into Illinois remains in Madison County custody on major felonies.
Del L. Miller, 61, of Collinsville, was charged on Oct. 8, 2026, with one count each of methamphetamine trafficking, unlawful possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine (both Class X felonies), unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine (both Class 1 felonies).
Miller is accused of bringing 87 grams of methamphetamine into the State of Illinois with the intent to deliver on Oct. 6, 2026. The alleged trafficking offense occurred less than a week after Miller allegedly delivered 15 grams of methamphetamine during a controlled sale conducted by law enforcement on Oct. 1, 2026.
The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny Miller’s pretrial release from custody in this case, noting he “has an extensive history of drug possession and delivery.”
“Officers conducted a controlled purchase of approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine from defendant,” the petition states. “Officers then conducted a traffic stop on defendant’s vehicle, arresting him on the prior sale. Defendant was found in possession of an additional 87 grams of methamphetamine.”
During an interview with police, Miller reportedly admitted to picking up the methamphetamine in St. Louis with the intention of selling it in Illinois.
Miller currently remains in custody in the Madison County Jail pending trial. The latest case against Miller was presented by the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois (MEGSI).
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
