Hall (D) is gearing up for the primary on March 17, 2026. He recently stopped by “Our Daily Show!” with CJ Nasello to talk through his goals for the district if he is elected, with a focus on affordability.

“I know people across our district and across our state are struggling and could use a little bit of help,” Hall said. “That’s just my big passion, to try to get stuff done, try to help people, make their lives better, make their lives easier.”

The 56th District is roughly 80% Madison County and 20% St. Clair County, spanning from Godfrey to O’Fallon. Hall is looking to represent all of these communities.

As Edwardsville Township Supervisor, Hall noted that he was “one of the first people to really back” the Overnight Warming Location’s move to Edwardsville, and he said he worked hard to connect community members to existing resources like the Glen-Ed Food Pantry and Main Street Community Center. He aimed to help the Township operate as a “middleman” to connect people to these resources.

Since beginning his campaign, Hall has heard from a lot of people who are struggling to afford basic needs. He shared that immigration policies have also attracted some attention, but locally, he is mostly still hearing about affordability as voters’ main concern.

“It was the property taxes, affordability with groceries, childcare,” Hall said. “I’ve got three little kids, and I always say that there was a point where all three of them were in daycare at the same time, and 75% of my take-home was just going to daycare. So I feel the struggles that everybody else is…When I talk to people over the past couple of weeks, it’s still affordability, it’s groceries, it’s fixed incomes and that kind of stuff.”

Hall pointed to his prior experience as Edwardsville Township Supervisor as an example of his commitment to constituents. He believes that working directly with constituents, as he has done in the past, will go a long way in preparing him for this new role.

“As Township Supervisor, hearing from constituents about the property tax issue, I was proud: My last property tax levy that we passed was the lowest tax rate for Edwardsville Township in over 30 years,” he shared. “I have experience actually getting results for people.”

Hall added that he is concerned about water quality in communities like Collinsville and Bethalto, noting that this is a “day one” issue that he would try to solve. He also wants to “provide property tax relief and provide public school funding” and said these are “very critical things for our state.”

As he prepares for the March primary, Hall encourages voters to reach out via call or text at 618-507-9146. You can also view his official website or his official Facebook page to learn more about his platforms.

“I’m there to help the people in this district,” Hall said. “I just want to get it done, be a fighter for the Metro East in Springfield. The big things that I’m running on are affordability, housing, childcare, utilities, groceries, medical bills. As I said earlier, I know people are struggling and could use a little bit of help. That’s the big thing, obviously, trying to get more state resources down here.”
