Former Tigers Star Macy Silvey Scores 1,000th Career Point for SIUE Women’s Basketball

Macy SIlvey.EDWARDSVILLE – Senior Macy Silvey scored the 1,000th point of her college career recently in Cookeville, Tennessee, helping SIUE defeat Tennessee Tech 76-60.

Silvey, an Edwardsville High School graduate and former Tigers basketball standout, became the 29th player in the SIUE women’s program history to reach the 1,000-point mark. She opened the third quarter against Tennessee Tech with a 3-pointer and reached the milestone on a layup with 6:52 remaining in the period.

Silvey is majoring in business at SIUE.

Silvey’s milestone added to a résumé that includes multiple climbs up SIUE’s record lists. In 2024-25, she held the program record for best free-throw percentage in a season at .950 (19-20).

Macy was a shooting guard from Edwardsville High School, where she helped the Tigers make a deep run into the state playoffs, averaging 11.4 points and shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range as a junior.

Macy comes from a family of star athletes. Her sister, Mackenzie, was a Southern Illinois University-Carbondale standout and her dad, Jeff, played baseball for the Cougars (1995-96).
