COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Police Department has selected Officer Jacob Besserman as the department’s February 2026 Officer of the Month after he took what the department described as proactive enforcement actions that led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl and suspected methamphetamine during a vehicle search in the community.
The Collinsville Department said Besserman “consistently takes proactive enforcement actions to locate those who seek to bring criminal activity to our community.”
As an example of those efforts in February, the department said Besserman “observed a subject known to have a revoked driver’s license driving in our community.” The department said an “eventual search of the vehicle was conducted” and “51 capsules of suspected fentanyl were located along with almost 4 grams of suspected methamphetamine.”
The Collinsville Police Department credited Besserman’s “knowledge of known criminals and proactive approach” with removing “a subject from our roadways” and said it “undoubtedly made our community safer.”
