ST. LOUIS COUNTY – St. Louis County Family Court has certified Bre’ion Brown, 18, as an adult and prosecutors have filed multiple felony charges in connection with a June 2025 shooting that left a woman and a fetus dead, authorities said.
The certification and charges were issued on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in St. Louis County, Mo. Brown, of the 1700 block of Hudson Road in St. Louis, was charged by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, two counts of second-degree murder, and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution. Brown is being held on a $750,000 cash-only bond, with no 10% option, authorities said.
Brown was originally taken into custody on Aug. 6, 2025, and held at the St. Louis Family Court, according to the release. The deceased was identified as Alicia Leach, 24, of the 7200 block of Calvin Avenue in Jennings, Mo.
A probable cause statement summary says police were called in the early morning hours of June 21, 2025, to the 7200 block of Calvin Avenue in St. Louis County for a welfare check. Initial responding officers found a deceased person in the front room of the residence, later determined to be a female and a female fetus identified as Baby Jane Doe, the statement said.
Investigators said the homicide investigation found that before the shooting, Brown and three others went to the house on Calvin Avenue. Ballistic evidence indicates Brown shot into the residence, and a brief gun battle occurred between someone inside the house and people outside, the summary said.
The fetus identified as Baby Jane Doe died from a single through-and-through gunshot wound, the statement said. Shell casings left at the scene matched the firearm used by Brown, according to the summary.
In the days after the killing, Brown made posts on social media and messaging apps indicating “consciousness of guilt” and said Brown painted the suspected firearm purple and was attempting to sell it, the summary said. When Brown was arrested, the firearm was seized and appeared to have recently been painted purple, according to the statement.
St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are handling the investigation, authorities said.
