
TROY – Joi Story of Edwardsville won both the shot put and discus throw, while the Tigers won in three other events, and Rayna Raglan of Alton took home the win in the 400 meters as Edwardsville ran away with the team title of the Triad Lady Knights girls track invitational meet Friday afternoon and evening, April 10, 2026, at Knights Field.
The Tigers won the meet with 179 points, easily outdistancing second-place Normal University, who had 97.5 points, with Normal Community West finishing third at 55 points, Chatham Glenwood was fourth with 53 points, and Cahokia rounded out the top five with 43 points. Mascoutah came in sixth with 42 points, Alton was seventh at 38 points, Waterloo finished in eighth with 33.5 points, the host Knights were 10th at 29 points, Freeburg and Marion tied for 11th with 25 points each, Belleville West was 13th with 16 point, finishing in 14th place was Collinsville at 14 points, Highland placed 15th with 10 points, Civic Memorial was in 16th place at eight points, and Granite City came in 18th with a single point.

The winner of the 100 meters was Hannah Safranek of Normal University, with a time of 11.96 seconds, with Joslyn Springman of Edwardsville second at 12.00 seconds, third place went to Izzy Stein of the Knights at 12.22 seconds, in fourth place was Waterloo’s Paige Zlatic at 12.28 seconds, and Sophie Shapiro of the Tigers was fifth at 12.32 seconds. Joanna Anoke of the Tigers won the 200 meters at 24.64 seconds, with Zlatic in second at 24.73 seconds, and Sophie Shapiro was third at 24.80 seconds. Raglan won the 400 meters at 56.11 seconds, while Kwanza Henderson of Collinsville placed second at 58.89 seconds, in third place was Triad’s Addie Field at 59.16 seconds, Highland’s Julianne Lindsco was fourth at 1:00.91, and fifth place went to Serena Shapiro of the Tigers at 1:01.71.
Julie Bach of Normal Community West won the 800 meters at 2:17.89, while Morgan Popelar of Edwardsville finished fifth at 2:24.83, and teammate Willow Jackson was sixth at 2:26,69. In the 1,600 meters, the winner was Ali Londrigan of Glenwood at 4:56.87, while MacKenna Kerpan of Edwardsville was third at 5:20.63, Popelar was third at 5:22.39, and Milla Cryder of Mascoutah was fifth at 5:27.74. Renee Warren of Normal West won the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:04.05, while the Tigers’ Virginia Siejka placed fifth at 12:19.64, and teammate Cara Kielty was sixth at 12:29.09.
In the hurdles races, the 100 meters was won by Safranek at 14.74 seconds, with AnnMarie Trentman of Freeburg second at 15.25 seconds, Adara Martin of Edwardsville was fourth at 16.04 seconds, and Dakota Bell of Cahokia came in fifth at 16.18 seconds. In the 300 meters, Ava Gallia of the Knights won the race at 45.41 seconds, with Martin finishing second at 45.84 seconds, third place went to Bell at 47.65 seconds, in fourth place was A’Zyllah Garland of Mascoutah at 49.68 seconds, and rounding out the top five was Paisley Frank of Freeburg at 50.68 seconds.
Edwardsville swept all four relay races, starting with the 4×100 meters, winning with a time of 46.62 seconds, with Alton finishing second at 48.00 seconds, in fourth place was Belleville West at 48.84 seconds, and Triad came in fifth at 49.21 seconds. The Tigers also won the 4×200 meters at 1:41.50, with Mascoutah third at 1:44.96, and Cahokia placing fourth at 1:46.32. Edwardsville won the 4×400 meters with a time of 4:01.20, with Belleville West coming in third at 4:07.06. In the 4×800 meters, the Tigers completed the relays sweet with a time of 9:34.57, with Waterloo second at 9:52.38, and Mascoutah came in fifth at 9:59.45.
In the field events, Story won the shot put with a throw of 13.25 meters, with Mikaylah Blackman of Cahokia fourth at 11.24 meters, and Edwardsville’s Jayla Gathing sixth at 11.13 meters. Story also took the discus throw with a toss of 43.85 meters, with Gathing placing fourth at 38.59 meters, and Blackman came in fifth with a throw of 36.50 meters. In the high jump, Emily Green of Normal University went over at 1.62 meters to win the event, with Olivia Williams of the Redbirds coming in third at 1.57 meters, and Mascoutah teammates Olivia Uptergrove and Dana Banker tying for fourth at 1.52 meters with Waterloo’s Grayce Mayer, with Uptergrove placing fourth, Banker fifth, and Mayer sixth on the fewest misses rule.
The pole vault was won by Caty Minton of Normal University, who went over at 3.40 meters, with Jaylinn Bell of the Tigers, Karrigan Littlejohn of Waterloo, and Isabella Hayes of Freeburg all clearing 3.10 meters, with Bell coming in second. Littlejohn third, and Hayes fourth on the fewest misses rule. Likewise, Kaylee Shields of CM, Normal West’s Madalyn Starnes, and Alex Wolfe of Edwardsville all went over at 2.95 meters, with Shields finishing fifth, Starnes sixth, and Wolfe seventh on the fewest misses rule. In the long jump, Morgan Gestes of Edwardsville won with a jump of 5.54 meters. In comparison, Grace Trentman of Freeburg was second at 5.39 meters, Heaven Baxstrom of Belleville West was fourth at 5.09 meters, and Darianna Morris of Collinsville was fifth at 4.95 meters. In the triple jump, Madison Heng of Edwardsville won with a leap of 10.69 meters, with Jasmine Moncelli of Cahokia second at 10.58 meters, Heng’s teammate, Talia Omatola, was third at 10.50 meters, and Aryanna Anthony of Alton finished fifth at 10.18 meters.
