
ROXANA – A local woman accused of stealing from a Roxana-based company joins five people charged with stealing gold and silver coins in facing felony theft charges in Madison County.
Tiffani R. Jones, 38, of Cottage Hills, was charged on April 16, 2026 with two counts of theft of property over $100,000, both Class 1 felonies.
From Dec. 2, 2024 to Feb. 21, 2026, Jones allegedly knowingly committed a series of acts to obtain $598,275.31 from Banner Fire Equipment, Inc. based in Roxana, Ill. by means of deception.
The Roxana Police Department presented the case against Jones, who was ordered released from custody pending trial.
In a separate series of connected cases, five people were charged with stealing gold and silver coins, with one facing additional charges. The following individuals were each charged on April 13, 2026 with one Class 1 felony count of theft:

The five are accused of knowingly obtaining stolen gold and silver coins with a total value of over $100,000 on Nov. 24, 2025. Charging documents state the stolen coins were property of the City of Gillespie and the estate of an individual.
Jones also faces one count of identity theft and one count of possession of another’s credit, debit, or identification card, both Class 3 felonies. She reportedly obtained another person’s stolen Social Security card and was found in possession of three debit cards belonging to a different victim which she obtained without the cardholder’s consent.
Each of the five suspects were granted pretrial release from custody, and each of the connected coin theft cases were presented by the Maryville Police Department.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
