Ricky Colp

Ricky Colp, age 70, of Collinsville, Illinois, and formerly of Granite City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Evercare at University in Edwardsville, with his loving family by his side.

Born on January 21, 1956, in Granite City, Ricky was the son of the late William A. and Myra A. (Carney) Colp.

Ricky will be remembered as a devoted father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He had a gift for connecting with others and truly never met a stranger. Known for his generous spirit, Ricky was always ready to lend a helping hand and brighten someone’s day. He embraced life with a positive attitude and a warm sense of humor that drew people to him.

An outdoorsman at heart, Ricky found joy in camping, fishing, and simply being outside, soaking in the beauty of nature. He was an enthusiastic St. Louis Cardinals fan, “only when they were winning”, and he enjoyed many good times playing pool with friends. Above all, his greatest happiness came from the time he spent with his family, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally.

In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry Colp, Gary Colp, Sr., and James Colp, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Cindy Colp and Wanda Colp; brother-in-law, Bob Mathias; and a niece in infancy, Jennifer Albano.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Brittany (Mike) Jones of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Ashley (Tony) Curtis of St. Charles, Missouri; his treasured grandchildren, Zoe Curtis and Zailen Curtis of St. Charles, MO, and Penelope Jones of O’Fallon, IL; his dear siblings, Jerry (Cheryl) Colp of Gillespie, Illinois, Mary (Dennis) Albano of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Vicky Mathias of Granite City, Illinois; his dear friend, Judith Garris of Granite City; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
