EDWARDSVILLE 1, O’FALLON 0 (AFTER EXTRA TIME, EDWARDSVILLE WINS PENALTY KICK SHOOTOUT 4-2): Edwardsville won a penalty kick shootout 4-2 to take the three points over O’Fallon in a key Southwestern Conference match at OTHS Panther Stadium.

Brynn Ori made four saves in goal for the Panthers.

The Tigers are now 11-3-2, while O’Fallon is now 12-3-3.

WATERLOO 4, CIVIC MEMORIAL 3: Landree Wallace had a hat trick for all three of CM’s goals as the Eagles lost at Waterloo.

Bryleigh Marshall had three saves in goal for CM.

The Bulldogs are now 17-1-0, while the Eagles are now 10-9-1.

BELLEVILLE WEST 6, ALTON 1: Grace Massey had the only goal of the match for Alton in West’s win at Bob Goalby Field.

Lynn Cowan made 11 saves in goal for the Redbirds, while Jaycee Dwiggins had one save.

The Maroons are now 11-10-1, while Alton is now 3-17-0.

In other matches played on Tuesday, Columbia won over Trenton Wesclin 9-0, Waterloo Gibault Catholic shut out Metro-East Lutheran 8-0, Belleville East nipped Collinsville 1-0, and Litchfield and Granite City played to a 1-1 draw.

SOFTBALL

JERSEY 10, GRANITE CITY 1: Jersey scored three times in both the first and second innings, once in both the third and the sixth, and twice in the fifth to win at home over Granite City.

Marley Cazier had two hits and three RBIs for the Panthers, while Jena Pegram struck out 10 inside the circle. Chloe Randolph and Makayla Adams had the two hits for the Warriors, while Isabella Briagas struck out one inside the circle.

Jersey is now 16-8, while Granite goes to 4-19.

BELLEVILLE EAST 12, ALTON 4: East scored three runs in the first, fourth, and fifth, and also scored once in the second, and twice in the sixth to defeat Alton at Redbirds Park.

Lilly Henkhaus had two hits for the Redbirds, while Kynlie Muscarella fanned three in the circle.

The Lancers are now 26-7, while Alton is 8-24.

HARDIN CALHOUN 9, CONCORD TRIOPIA 8: Calhoun scored once in the fourth and seventh, twice in the fifth, and five times in the sixth, but it was the run in the seventh that proved to be the difference as the Warriors held off a three-run seventh inning rally by Triopia to earn the road win and end the Trojans’ undefeated season.

Bralyn Lammy had two hits and two RBIs for Calhoun, while Anabel Eilerman struck out nine in the circle.

The Warriors are now 12-12, while Triopia goes to 24-1.

PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 4, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 1: Southwestern spotted EAWR a 1-0 first-inning lead, then scored single runs in the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to win at Leroy Emerick Field.

Josie Hagen had two hits and two RBIs for the Piasa Birds, with Hannah Mary striking out three in the circle. Emily Fry had two hits for the Oilers, while Josslyn Snively had the other hit. Ellie Beechum went all the way in the circle, fanning 16.

Southwestern is now 15-10, while EAWR goes to 5-18.

CIVIC MEMORIAL 10, HIGHLAND 0: CM scored in every inning but the fifth, pushing across two runs in the first, second, and sixth innings, three runs in the third, and one run in the fourth to shut out Highland at the Bethalto Sports Complex.

Allison Friedel had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles, while Olivia Monroe fanned nine in the circle.

CM is now 9-16, while the Bulldogs slip to 3-19.

In the remaining games played on Tuesday, Belleville Althoff Catholic outlasted Cahokia 23-18, O’Fallon nipped Belleville West 3-2, Edwardsville shut out East St. Louis 18-0, Freeburg won over Breese Mater Dei Catholic 5-0, Carterville won over Waterloo 6-2, Dupo got past Waterloo Gibault Catholic 8-3, and New Athens defeated Valmeyer 10-6.

In a result from Monday, Barry Western won over White Hall North Greene 5-2.
