Patrick D. Roth, 76, of Swansea, IL, born February 8, 1950, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Patrick worked as a construction laborer with the Local 459, until his retirement. He was a member of the Swansea Moose Lodge and loved visiting with his buddies on Wednesday’s. Patrick enjoyed watching old movies with his wife, taking care of his fish, watching hummingbirds, and collecting hats. He was always available to lend a helping hand and was affectionately known as a “professional piddler”. Above all, Patrick loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin J. and Rosemary A., nee Nebgen, Roth; two brothers, Michael Roth and Timothy Roth; two sisters, Margaret “Peggy” (Frank) Schofro and in infancy, Mary Roth; a brother-in-law, Pete Schulein; a nephew, Nicholas Schofro; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Virginia Egnatz.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Katherine M. Roth, nee Egnatz, whom he married on March 24, 1979; his children, Patricia “Trisha” (Bradley) Bell, Michelle (Vince) Marty, Joshua (Brandi) Roth; five grandchildren, Thomas Marty, Clark Marty, Jett Roth Ruby Frischkorn and Chaz Frischkorn; a sister, Cathy Schulein; a sister-in-law, Debbie Roth; nieces and nephews, especially Patrick “Paddy” Schulein and Ronnie “Bonzo” Schulein; and many dear friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
