Quiet Wednesday Morning Turns Warmer and More Humid by Afternoon

Wednesday starts mostly sunny and quiet, with temperatures in the mid-60s and a light breeze. It already feels a little warmer than the thermometer shows, so early risers may notice it feels like the upper 60s as the day gets going.

By afternoon, temperatures climb to a high near 83 with a mix of clouds and sun. A few spotty thunderstorms could pop up later in the day, with rain chances around 55 percent. Winds stay fairly light from the south-southwest at about 8 mph, with gusts up to 16 mph. If you are out through the hottest part of the day, it may feel more like 87.

During the evening, a thunderstorm remains possible for a time before skies trend mostly cloudy. The air will stay humid, and any brief downpour could interrupt outdoor plans, though this does not look like an all-evening washout.

Overnight, conditions stay mostly cloudy and muggy as temperatures ease back to a low near 67. A leftover shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out early, then the night turns quiet but sticky.

The allergy index is moderate today, with grass as the main allergen. Mold, ragweed and tree pollen are low.

Thursday brings another high near 83 and a low around 69, with a more humid setup and a better chance for afternoon and nighttime thunderstorms.
