Hazel Alberta Wilson, age 60, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 26, 2026.
Hazel was born in Granite City, Illinois, on September 30, 1966. She was the daughter of the late James Robert Utley and Janey Belle Utley.
Hazel was a wise, kind-hearted woman, always willing to help family and friends. She loved letting out her kid-at-heart side by playing video games with her husband and sons. She was always there with advice – even if you didn’t want it.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: husband Steven; children: Janey Sioux Betancourt, John Robert Howard Wilson, Jenna Kathleen Wilson, and Steven Augustus Wilshire.
She will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Natalia Isabella Betancourt, Sophia Grace Betancourt, Carter Lane Wilson, Oliver Thomas Wilson, Trinity Faith Wilson, Aniyah Sioux Sullivan, Jurnee Shantelle Sullivan, and Nevaeh Autumn Starr Sullivan.
A Celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the First Apostolic Church in Greenville.
