Carol Ann Weidemann, nee Mahan, 80, of Maryville, born October 22, 1945, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, July 3, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Carol dedicated many years as a secretary with Belleville School District 118 before retiring from O’Fallon School District 90. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
Carol had a smile that could light up any room and an outgoing personality that made everyone feel welcome. She never met a stranger and had a special gift for forming meaningful connections, while also deeply cherishing the lifelong friendships she held dear. She enjoyed reading and loved sharing books with her daughter and friends.
Above all, Carol cherished her family. She was a proud grandmother who loved cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events and performances. She was also a devoted wife and caregiver to her husband, Wayne, with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage in April.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Mahan and Loretta Joergens, nee Burgert.
Surviving are her loving husband, Wayne E. Weidemann; two children, Kevin V. Weidemann and Lisa A. (Keith) Grote; three grandchildren; Blue Weidemann, Carter Grote, and Lena Grote; a sister, Sharon M. Owens; and dear nieces and nephews and their families.
