Roger Wilkinson

Roger A. Wilkinson, 66, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Sun. Aug. 2, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family while under hospice care.

He was born Sept. 29, 1959 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Oscar and Mary (Blaylock) Wilkinson.

On Apr. 10, 1987, he and Jo Ellen Jackson were married in Granite City. She survives.

Roger retired from Icon Mechanical Contractor as the lead shop manager after many years of service. Being mechanically inclined, he loved to tinker on things and liked working on solar projects, fixing motors and his motorcycle. He was also artistic and loved to paint motorcycles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters: Holly (Brent) Wilkinson-Muenstermann of Edwardsville, IL and Joni Wilkinson and Katie Wilkinson of Granite City; 7 grandchildren: Natalie Wilkinson, Abigail Howland, Nicholas Wilkinson, Ryan Moylan, Matthew Rito, Jaxson Basye and Jace Wilkinson; 2 sisters: Mary (Tom) Castello of Belleville, IL and Laura Williams of Davenport, IA; and 3 brothers: Harold “Tom” (Eb) Wilkinson of Staunton, IL, Dick Wilkinson of Granite City and Chuck Wilkinson (Christine) of Pontoon Beach, IL.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Percy “P.J.”, Vernon, Joe and J.D. Wilkinson.

Memorial visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Tues. Aug. 11, 2026 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorials may be made to the Family, to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society in Roger’s name.
