Shirley L. Murphy, nee Whittaker, 88, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, July 2, 1938, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at La Bella of Caseyville in Caseyville, IL.
Shirley worked as a bookkeeper for Harmony Emge-Ellis School District 175 for several years before retiring in 2004. She opened her home for many gatherings over the years for family and friends and was known for being a gracious and welcoming host. She loved her St. Louis Cardinals, win or lose and everything Disney. Above all else she treasured time spent with her grandson, Miles.
She was preceded in death by her:

- Parents: Kenneth L. and Mildred, nee Rose, Whittaker
Surviving are her:
- Daughter: Tracy Noud of Edwardsville, IL
- Grandson: Miles Noud of Edwardsville, IL
- Brother: Bill (Susan) Whittaker of Waterloo, IL
- Sister: Judy (Calvin) Hattan of Collinsville, IL
- Many nieces and nephews

Visitation: Visitation from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.
Services: Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday , August 19, 2026 at Kurrus Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Swickard officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory-Belleville, IL.
