Edwardsville Municipal Band to Honor Herbie the Cow With ‘Herd’ It on the Bandstand Concert

EDWARDSVILLE – The Edwardsville Municipal Band invites the community to a one-of-a-kind musical celebration on Thursday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cleaon Etzkorn Bandstand in City Park. Titled “Herd It on the Bandstand, the evening’s program pays tribute to one of the city’s most recognized locals: the famous rooftop landmark, Herbie the Cow.

Perched high above Main Street, Herbie has been keeping watch over the city for years. This week, the band turns the spotlight back on him with a musical journey celebrating his farmyard roots, historic travels, and pop culture connections. The music spans everything from Wild West trail melodies and runaway locomotive rhythms to famous Broadway show tunes, jazz percussion features, and energetic folk dances.

Herbie will also be making an appearance at the park, offering fans a unique opportunity to snap photos with Edwardsville’s favorite bovine ambassador before the concert and through intermission.

Concessions will be available for purchase, courtesy of the Main Street Community Center. The event is completely free to attend. Guests should pack lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable park seating.
