Patricia A. Prosser, nee Biver, 84, of Swansea, IL, born December 9, 1941, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
For 35 years, Patricia “Pat” dedicated herself to others as an operating room registered nurse, serving patients with steady hands and a compassionate heart until her retirement. Her spirit was anchored by her faith and her community at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
If she wasn’t traveling around the globe with her hubby, Pat’s hands were always trying something new. She was incredibly crafty, whether she was cooking, creating custom stained glass, festive ceramics, beaded ornaments or meticulously sewing. This talent led her to step away from nursing for a time to co-found a fabrics and craft store with her dear friend, a venture born entirely out of love for the craft. “Making Memories”, one of her go-to slogans and thing to do, was very important to her. She was always up for a new game, whether board games, cards or a slot machine or two.
Yet, of all the titles she held, “Nana” and more recently “Great Grandmother” “Gigi” were her absolute favorites. She was the Nana who baked and decorated the perfect birthday cakes, seamlessly mended sports uniforms, tailored or altered school play costumes, and then sat proudly in the audience or bleachers for every single event.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard L. Prosser, whom she married on September 3, 1962, at St. Peter Cathedral, Belleville, IL, and who died on February 13, 2024; a son, Jeffrey Prosser; and her parents, Cyril J. and Lucille E., nee Wittlich, Biver.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Prosser (partner, Mark Brandon), and Diana (Mark) Noonan; a daughter-in-law, Marnie Prosser; six grandchildren, Juliana (Brennan) Boudreaux, Kenton White, Bradley and Christopher Prosser, and Maya and Eddie Noonan; a great-grandson, Cyrus “Lil Guy” Boudreaux; a sister-in-law, Mary Joan Wellinghoff; a brother-in-law, James J. (Joan) Prosser; and several nieces and nephews.

We watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh, IL, with Fr. Paul Weinhoff officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
