Man Wounded After Allegedly Pointing Weapon At Officers

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — St. Louis County detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning, Sept. 1, 2026, in the 300 block of Weidman Road that left an adult male with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries after police said he pointed a weapon at officers.

Officers from the St. Louis County Police West County Precinct responded at about 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, to a call for service for a subject flourishing a weapon at vehicles in the 14000 block of Manchester Road, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.

Police said officers attempted to make contact with the subject when they arrived, but he fled on foot across Weidman Road. Officers chased him into a parking lot in the 300 block of Weidman Road, where police said the subject pointed a weapon at them.

Two officers fired their service weapons, striking the male multiple times, police said. Officers rendered aid, and the suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

No officers were physically injured.

The officers involved are 34 years old with eight years of service and 25 years old with one year of service, police said.

The St. Louis County Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating. Police said the investigation is active and preliminary details may change.
