Roger Tracy

Roger Tracy, age 81, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 26, 1944, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the son of the late John and Wilma (Bodry) Tracy.

A proud United States Air Force veteran, Roger served his country with honor. On June 24, 1967, he married the love of his life, Joyce Mason, at Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City, where he remained a faithful member. Roger retired from St. Louis Community College after many years of dedicated service as an administrator. In his free time, he enjoyed photography and model railroads, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly. Roger will be remembered with love and deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, James Tracy.

Roger is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Joyce Tracy of Granite City; his loving son, Brent Tracy of Granite City; his cherished granddaughter, Alexis Tracy and her fiance, Dean Brehe, of Granite City; as well as extended family members and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 09, 2026, at Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City, IL.

In celebration of Roger’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City, IL.

Roger will be laid to rest during a private family burial at Fairland Cemetery in Maryville, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation and will be accepted at the church.
