ST. LOUIS – A man in his 60s was found shot to death inside a wrecked vehicle early Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, in the Mark Twain neighborhood, where homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, authorities said.
Officers received a shooting call just before 12:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Geraldine. When they arrived, they found the vehicle with the man inside. EMS responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The case was one of several shootings and a stabbing reported in St. Louis neighborhoods between Sept. 4 and Sept. 7.
In Midtown, a 25-year-old man arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a 14-year-old girl was charged by the Circuit Attorney’s Office with three counts of first-degree assault, five counts of armed criminal action, one count of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Charges against a 38-year-old arrested man were not issued.
Officers from District 4 and District 5 responded shortly before 6 p.m. Sept. 6 to the area of Vandeventer and Laclede for a shooting involving the girl. Officers found her inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting followed a disagreement involving the girl’s mother, who had recently been fired from the Jimmy John’s in the 3800 block of Laclede, and several current employees. At some point, the girl’s father arrived at the restaurant with her. The situation escalated, shots were fired and the girl was struck in the leg. District 4 detectives are investigating.
In the Tiffany neighborhood, a man in his 50s died Sept. 6 after a stabbing in the 3800 block of Folsom. District Two officers responded just after 4:30 a.m. to a call for a cutting and found the man lying in the street between two parked cars. He was not conscious and not breathing and had multiple cuts and stab wounds. He died at the scene. Homicide detectives are investigating.
In Walnut Park West, 23-year-old Reginald Holmes of St. Louis County was fatally shot Sept. 4 during an attempted robbery, according to preliminary findings. District 6 officers responded just after 9 p.m. to St. Louis Fish and Chicken in the 5000 block of Goodfellow and found Holmes not conscious and not breathing with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest a group of young males attempted to rob Holmes of his belongings, and he resisted. One of the males shot Holmes and fled. Homicide detectives are investigating.
In Dutchtown, three people were shot early Sept. 5 outside Your Place Bar in the 5500 block of Virginia. Just after 1:30 a.m., a District 1 sergeant in the area of Virginia and Bates heard multiple gunshots and responded toward them. The sergeant found a woman in her 40s and a man in his 30s who had been shot. A third person, a man in his 40s, arrived at an area hospital by private conveyance with a gunshot wound. All three were listed in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation found that a large group of people was standing outside the bar when a fight broke out between two groups, who began shooting at each other. District 1 detectives are investigating.
In the West End, an 18-year-old man died after being dropped off at an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds on Sept. 4. District 5 officers received a shooting call just after 8 p.m. and located a scene in the 5900 block of Plymouth Avenue. The man died from his injuries despite life-saving efforts by hospital staff. Homicide detectives are investigating.
