ALTON – Marquette Catholic swept Metro East Lutheran in a conference volleyball matchup Tuesday night, Sept. 8, 2026, with the Explorers’ freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams each winning in two sets.
Marquette’s varsity team defeated Metro East Lutheran 25-11, 26-24. The freshman team won 21-14, 22-20, and the junior varsity team also won in two sets. No junior varsity set scores were provided.
Among the listed standouts for Marquette Catholic by Coach Emma Deist, Reese Bechtold and Mia Moore each had five kills. Brooke Keller had 10 assists, while Alex Stephan and Remmi Copeland had seven digs apiece.
MELHS falls to 1-7 and returns to action at home against Granite City on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. Marquette, 5-5, travels to Jersey for a match on Wednesday.
