ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — Chauncey Bishop, 61, of St. Louis, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, after a single-vehicle crash near South Lindbergh Boulevard and Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis County police said.
Officers from the South County Precinct responded at 11:05 a.m. Sept. 10 to a call for service at the intersection. They found Bishop in the driver’s seat suffering from injuries sustained in the crash, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for life-saving treatment but was pronounced dead.
Police said a preliminary investigation found Bishop was driving out of a parking lot in the 7400 block of South Lindbergh Boulevard. While heading west on South Lindbergh, the vehicle went off the road, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a pole near the intersection of South Lindbergh Boulevard and Lemay Ferry Road.
Bishop lived in the 6000 block of Colorado Avenue in St. Louis, police said.
