BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – SIUE volleyball’s Georgia Bresnahan (Westfield, Ind.) has been named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Rookie of the Week following an impressive weekend at home in the Cougar Classic.

Bresnahan helped lead the Cougars offensively to a pair of sweep victories Friday, recording 11 kills and five digs in the win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, before adding 10 kills and five digs in the three-set victory over Chicago State later that same night.

She then closed out the Cougar Classic with seven kills and eight digs against Northern Illinois Saturday.

Through the first nine matches of the season, Bresnahan has quickly emerged as one of SIUE’s top offensive weapons, totaling 68 kills in 27 sets played.

Bresnahan and the Cougars return to action this weekend, with the Cougars traveling to Clarksville, Tennessee for the Austin Peay Governors Classic.
