Lloyd Cann

Lloyd G. Cann, 85, of Edwardsville and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:24 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at LaBella of Edwardsville. He was born December 19, 1938, in Granite City, Illinois, a son of the late Arthur Lee “Art” and Marie V. (Victory) Cann. He married June Rose (Angle) Cann on June 20, 1959, and she passed away on March 2, 2020. Lloyd retired from the Granite City Street Department after many years of dedicated service as a laborer. He attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. He had a love of cars, motorcycles and motorhomes and loved spending hours on his iPad searching the many models and values or stopping by any car lot along his travels. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Sandy and Bill Radford of Collinsville, Randy and Stephanie Cann of Edwardsville, Julie and Dennis Wilmsmeyer of Granite City, Kellie and Chad Taylor of Granite City and Andy Cann and Laura Lennington of Edwardsville; 20 grandchildren, Christina (Phil Henschen) Chase, William Radford, Michael (Natalie Becker) Radford, Eric (Crystal) Radford, Tyler Cann, Jack Cann, Nick (Abby Simonds) Wilmsmeyer, Jake Wilmsmeyer, Olivia Wilmsmeyer, Olivia Wilmsmeyer, Analiese Wilmsmeyer, Ella Wilmsmeyer, Isa Wilmsmeyer, Josh Wilmsmeyer, Nate Wilmsmeyer, Ben Wilmsmeyer, Kristin Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Hannah Taylor and Katelynn Taylor; four great grandchildren, Brenden Radford, Aiden Chase, Norah Henschen and Noah Radford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Pat Cann of Florida and Paul and Marie Cann of Alhambra; two sisters, Joan Mase of Granite City and Irene Stinchfield of Collinsville; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Cann and Bob and Mary Cann; a sister, Mary Symons and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Mase and Bob Stinchfield.

In celebration of his life, a visitation will be at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2300 Pontoon Road in Granite City from 9:30 a.m. until time of a Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, with Father Alfred Tumwesigye officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church or School.
